They are accused of betraying the interests of the working class, taking advantage of their position to obtain personal benefits and privileges.

Marcelo Abdala, eternal bureaucrat
The communist Marcelo Abdala, 58 years old, has been leading Untmra (metalworkers' union) for more than 25 years; moreover, he is one of the main ringleaders of the Communist Party.
He spends his time permanently enjoying union leave, and he is never seen working at any metalworking company; however, he claims to represent not only metalworkers but all Uruguayan workers.
Abdala is the same person who has repeatedly praised the Cuban communist dictatorship, and who traveled to Venezuela to embrace the genocidal Nicolás Maduro.
A few years ago, he crashed drunk in Punta Carretas and fled from the police to avoid being caught.

José Lorenzo López is an employee at Inau and the main ringleader of the union at that state agency.
