The director of the Secretariat of Human Rights for the Recent Past has been accused of harassment

The director of the Secretariat of Human Rights for the Recent Past, the ultra-radical feminist Alejandra Casablanca, was reported for workplace harassment to the Occupational Health department of the Office of the President.
The victims are several employees of the institution. The employees do not dare to file a formal written complaint, since all of them are on commission or hold politically appointed positions from Frente Amplio politicians, even though in some cases they have worked in the organization for several years.
Casablanca, a harasser
The work environment is very tense, "very complex," and marked by situations of psychological violence perpetrated by Casablanca.
The employees point to "mistreatment," "vulgar insults," accusations of "being useless," and threats of transfers to other government offices.

A serial harasser
This is not the first time Alejandra Casablanca has been accused and reported for serious workplace harassment.
In 2021, the Frente Amplio communicator Denisse Legrand filed a complaint with Human Resources of the Montevideo City Hall for "workplace violence" against the then director of the Tv Ciudad channel.
During Casablanca's tenure at the city hall's channel in Montevideo, there were several episodes of confrontation and workplace harassment involving the channel's employees.
In 2023, after several months of tension, the group of channel employees issued a statement in which they accused Casablanca of "permanent workplace harassment."
"In light of a series of situations that have occurred in our workplace, the workers of TV Ciudad, after meeting in assembly, state that we have historically advocated for the consolidation of a public channel that ensures the fulfillment of plurality and freedom of expression," the statement said.
Pressure over "journalistic" content
A serious incident involving Alejandra Casablanca when she was in charge of the Tv Ciudad channel, which is funded by Montevideo residents' taxes, was pressuring the hosts of "journalistic" programs to favor the left, both politically and in terms of unions.
Fachada de Tv Ciudad
The channel's employees stated that Casablanca censored information that could potentially benefit members of the Coalición República, and particularly the government of then-president Lacalle Pou.
Despite these disastrous precedents, Casablanca was appointed to lead the Secretariat of Human Rights for the Recent Past by President Yamandú Orsi.
A useless office
The state agency headed by Casablanca doesn't serve any useful function. This Secretariat seeks to rewrite the so-called recent past.
That is, to rewrite the last 60 years of Uruguayan history in favor of the ultra-left, distorting, lying, and falsifying the truth, to construct a narrative in favor of the totalitarian left and against the ideas of freedom.
Casablanca has experience in constructing deceitful narratives in favor of the anti-democratic left, as she demonstrated when she led Tv Ciudad, a Frente Amplio grassroots committee funded with the taxes of all Montevideo residents.
