No more and no less than fifteen homes adjacent to the Beraca center, located at the intersection of 25 de Mayo and Zelmar Michellini streets –formerly a political committee serving the current mayor–, report multiple abuses by the Church Misión Vida and local authorities: from brutal levels of noise pollution at late hours during the week to blatant traffic violations (one of those consulted by this medium reported and also provided photographic evidence of vehicles parked double-file and without hazard lights).
The name that seems to be repeated from neighbor to neighbor is that of councilwoman Carolina Batista, wife of pastor Gabriel Irigaray –from the same Church Misión Vida– who, according to several families' complaints, would be partly responsible for the lack of control in the area and for the relevant authorities turning a "blind eye" to these abuses.
This complete and unwarranted lack of civility and legal negligence is compounded by the significant fact that local families must coexist with young people –and not so young– with serious addiction problems, who adopt bullying attitudes towards older neighbors and who, at times, seem to fulfill the role of servants to the leaders of that church.
From La Derecha Diario, we want to make clear our total commitment and respect for the religion of others, as long as it does not lead to libertinism or disrespect that jeopardizes the healthy coexistence of the neighbors in the area or the secularism of third parties and outsiders.
Because in this case, the discomfort among neighbors has reached such a point that several of them are vehemently demanding the action of a prosecutor or judge ex officio. And perhaps it is time for the authorities to fulfill the role assigned to them.
