In the 2026 Carnival, the murga Doña Bastarda, which won first prize in the 2025 Carnival, has released a vomit-inducing and repugnant cuplé in which they mock the Holocaust of the Jewish people that took place during the Second World War.
The Uruguayan Carnival is an example of unrestrained hatred toward any manifestation or expression that doesn't share the ideas of the Uruguayan left.
Demented Neo-Nazism
In 2026 Doña Bastarda gave free rein to its neo-Nazism, mocking the victims of the Jewish Holocaust.
They especially made a macabre "joke" about the victims who died at the hands of the Nazis in the gas chambers.
This is neither humor, nor irony, nor satire. This is antisemitism, this is pure and unadulterated hatred toward the Jewish people, and a repugnant hate speech directed at the Jews who live in Uruguay.

Financing
The financing of the murga Doña Bastarda for Carnival 2026 is based on a combination of commercial sponsorships, performance prizes, ticket sales, and union support.
For the 2026 season, they have the support of brands such as the pork products company Sarubbi, which serves as the official sponsor.
By having obtained first prize in the murga category of Carnival 2025, the group received a significant sum of money from the prizes awarded by DAECPU and the Montevideo City Hall, which serves as the basis for financing the 2026 show "Patria o Tumba."
They also organize their own events such as "Tabladito de la Doña" (held on January 11, 2026, at the Espacio Cilíndrico), where they sell "collaboration vouchers" through platforms such as RedTickets.
Union financing
But the main financing of the antisemitic and Judeophobic murga Doña Bastarda comes from the PIT-CNT trade union confederation. More specifically, it comes from the unions of state agencies.
The murga uses union infrastructures for its rehearsals, such as the headquarters of SUTEL (Telecommunications Union). In this union venue, the antisemitic murga rehearses and holds dinners for its members and supporters.
PIT-CNT
They have also received financial support from organizations such as AFUTU in recent seasons.
As is known, this is the union that brings together UTU employees. AFUTU collects hundreds of thousands of pesos per month from the dues it charges its members. Part of this money is injected into the murga Doña Bastarda.
The fact that unions in Uruguay finance murgas and other Carnival groups is nothing new. For decades, Uruguayan unions that manage enormous sums of money have financed different Carnival groups, especially murgas.
This way, the Uruguayan trade union confederation finances hatred toward the Jewish people. They suck workers' money to promote neo-Nazi murgas that spread violence and discrimination.
