The $1,200,000 mega scam perpetrated by Communist Party union leaders is still under investigation

As already reported by La Derecha Diario, in December 2024, after the financial manager of FOSVOC (Fondo Social de Vivienda de Obreros de la Construcción), Stella Rey, went on leave, unauthorized bank transfers were discovered.
An internal audit confirmed that the fraudulent maneuvers began in 2018, not in 2024 as initially thought, and it is estimated that the total amount stolen exceeds 1.2 million dollars (approximately 50 million Uruguayan pesos and US$17,500).
The prosecutor in the case, Gilberto Rodríguez, indicated that the mega fraud exceeded the figure of 1,200,000 dollars.
Communist Party Unionists
It is worth recalling that the Sunca unionists involved in the mega fraud belong to the Communist Party (PCU).
Óscar Andrade is the current senator of the Party, and for many years was the most prominent unionist of Sunca.
Gilberto Rodríguez
The current PCU deputy, Daniel Diverio, was until a few months ago the top leader of the construction union.
When Andrade and Diverio have been asked about the mega fraud they respond evasively, put on a "wasn't me" face, and give answers that convince no one.
They are not able to explain how, in the union they led, 1,200,000 was stolen and no one knows anything.
Hiring of Gonzalo Fernández
Óscar Andrade hired Gonzalo Fernández, right-hand man of Tabaré Vázquez, former secretary of the presidency of the Republic, and former Minister of Defense under Vázquez, as his personal lawyer.
Fernández charges very high professional fees that no one knows who pays.
It should be noted that Andrade, a few years ago, said that he did not pay the property tax to the Canelones municipality for his spectacular chalet in the San Luis resort because, supposedly, he had no money.

If Andrade is convinced of his innocence, why does he hire one of the most expensive criminal law specialists in the country as his lawyer?
Serious accusations
The communist unionists who have already been criminally convicted accused the PCU, and specifically pointed out that Óscar Andrade financed his electoral campaign to renew his seat in the senate in 2024 with stolen money from Sunca.
Diverio y Andrade
That is to say, the PCU would have used money from construction workers for its political and electoral purposes, particularly to renew Andrade's seat.
The explanations from Andrade and Diverio do not add up in any way. The prosecutor in the case must investigate thoroughly, and those criminally responsible must face their sentence, no matter who they are.
