In the last few days, the artificial intelligence Grok, developed by Elon Musk for the platform X (formerly Twitter), became an unexpected protagonist in the political debate in Mexico. Far from serving as a propaganda tool, its responses highlighted the federal government's errors.
Several Morena supporters tried to use it to validate their official narrative, but the attempt was counterproductive. Grok replied with data that exposed contradictions of the regime and uncovered the failure of the self-proclaimed Fourth Transformation.
Grok exposed insecurity and the failure of the 4T
One of the most viral moments occurred when users asked Grok about security in Mexico during the term of Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The artificial intelligence quickly replied with hard data that put the Morena administration in a bad light.
It pointed out that violence has reached unprecedented levels, with more than 170,000 homicides recorded since 2018. These statistics, which come from official sources and international organizations, dismantle any attempt to gloss over reality.
Grok's response contradicts the government's discourse, which continues to defend the failed "hugs, not bullets" strategy. Although some Morena supporters tried to discredit the AI, the backing of verifiable data prevented manipulation of the outcome.
The snub to Sheinbaum
Another episode that caused controversy was Grok's response to a query launched by the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, who asked who was the most popular leader in the world. Surprisingly, the AI mentioned Claudia Sheinbaum, provoking ridicule and questioning.
Social media users reacted with skepticism, as it seems implausible that a figure with little international projection would be labeled as the most popular. Everything pointed to an attempt at manipulation or algorithmic bias, driven by the officialdom.
Sheinbaum tried to divert attention and downplayed the issue, but her evasive response only worsened the negative perception. The public opinion quickly pointed out the inconsistency of a globally trained AI praising a figure who lacks influence outside of Mexico.
Morena, at war with AI
In response to these episodes, Morena supporters began attacking Grok. They accused it of bias, manipulation, and even serving foreign interests. However, the real annoyance lies in the fact that the technology exposed what the officialdom wants to hide.
The artificial intelligence made it clear that, beyond the regime's propaganda, the real data continues to highlight the government's failures. It's not a campaign, but the harsh truth: Mexico is going through a crisis of security, credibility, and leadership.
The attempt to use Grok as an ally turned into a boomerang that left those who insist on denying the obvious in a bad position. This public humiliation reflects the wear and tear of a government incapable of responding to facts with solid arguments.
