The city of Córdoba sent a strong message in the 2025 legislative elections. La Libertad Avanza obtained 44.18% of the votes and established itself as the main local political force. The election confirmed support for the path of economic openness and state reduction promoted by Javier Milei.
The election, held on Sunday, October 26, showed a strong inclination toward the continuity of the libertarian project. Voter turnout was 65%, the lowest since 1983, reflecting some disenchantment with the old political structures. Despite this, the support for the national government was overwhelming in all sectors.
La Libertad Avanza secured five of the nine seats at stake for the Chamber of Deputies. Córdoba Capital was key in that result, where the liberal vote displaced the power of the local government apparatus.

The collapse of Córdoba's Peronism and the change in the political map
The provincial government, Provincias Unidas, reached only 25.31% in the city. The coalition led by Schiarettismo lost support even in its traditional strongholds. Of the 70 districts, it managed to retain only 27.
Defendamos Córdoba, the group led by Natalia de la Sota, came in third with 8.29%. Despite her family political legacy, her candidacy failed to attract an electorate that prioritized renewal. Meanwhile, Fuerza Patria ranked fourth with 5.18%.
