Sony has been going through a transformation process around its PlayStation brand for several years now. With changes in its management structure and a strategy that included a strong commitment to games as a service—not always with good results—2026 is emerging as a decisive year.
With a line-up packed with titles linked to PlayStation Studios and major external deals, PlayStation 5 will seek to regain momentum and consolidate its identity. These are the year's most relevant releases.
Marvel’s Wolverine
The major exclusive of the year will be Insomniac Games' new project, which was announced more than five years ago. Set in the same universe as the studio's Spider-Man games, it promises a darker and more violent experience, in line with Wolverine's character.
Its release is scheduled for the Latin American spring (September or October). In addition to expanding this shared universe, it is expected to lay the groundwork for future video games focused on the X-Men.
Saros
Developed by Housemarque, it will be the studio's first project after its acquisition by Sony in 2021, the year in which it released the acclaimed Returnal.
Saros will maintain the third-person roguelike formula with a strong narrative focus, although in a completely different universe. Its release is scheduled for April 30 and it will be one of the first major in-house titles of the year.
Marathon

The games-as-a-service strategy remains a sensitive issue for PlayStation. After successes such as Helldivers 2 and failures such as Concord, the company is maintaining its bet with this new project from Bungie, creators of Destiny and the Halo saga.
Marathon will be an ambitious multiplayer shooter that will seek to stand out through its physics design and competitive approach. It will be available to try starting in March.
