Sony presented new games, remakes, and surprises in a State of Play packed with announcements for PS5

The new State of PlayfromSony delivered a flood of announcements for PS5, with historic comebacks, unexpected remakes, and new IPs.
For more than an hour, PlayStation showed trailers, dates, and surprises that set the gaming calendar for 2026 and 2027. Here we review all the State of Play announcements, one by one.

Kena returns with a sequel
Kena: Scars of Kosmora was the first bomb. The sequel to the acclaimed Kena: Bridge of Spirits will arrive this year on PS5 and PC.
It promises a notable graphical leap and a darker story. Kena will travel to a mysterious island and face a corruption that fractures her spiritual staff.
Ghost of Yōtei adds co-op
Ghost of Yōtei Legends will add a cooperative mode for four players. It will be free for those who already own the game.

There will be classes such as Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, and Shinobi. It will include Survival, Story, and raid modes with final bosses.
Death Stranding 2 comes to PC
Death Stranding 2 already has a date for PC. It will include technical improvements such as ultrawide support and upscaling technologies.

Capcom makes a strong move: Pragmata and Resident Evil
Pragmata was shown again with a focus on its lunar setting. The narrative and hostile AI will be key.
Additionally, Resident Evil Requiem presented a new trailer and aims to be one of the survival horror titles of the year.
Historic comebacks and remasters
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered and the new Legacy of Kain: Ascendance.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2, with MGS4 included.
Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition.
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round for PS5.
Pragmata
The most impactful announcement was God of War Trilogy Remake, although it's still in an early stage. Additionally, God of War: Sons of Sparta in 2D is already available.
New IPs and major bets
Among the brand-new titles, Crimson Moon, a cooperative soulslike, and Project Windless, an open-world RPG, stood out.

There was also room for Silent Hill Townfall in first person and a new Castlevania: Belmont's Curse in 2D.
Marvel, 007, and John Wick
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls confirmed its date. A new trailer for 007 First Light was also shown.
The surprise was the announcement of a John Wick AAA game, developed together with Lionsgate and Keanu Reeves.

PS Plus adds a heavyweight
In February, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be added to PS Plus Extra and Premium. New classics will also arrive in the coming months.
Saros and Marathon, what's coming
Saros, Housemarque's shooter, showed gameplay with a progression system after dying. Meanwhile, Marathon will have an open beta before its launch.
