The Real Madrid winger will be out for the rest of the season after his injury against Getafe

100 days before the World Cup, Brazil received some of the worst possible news. Rodrygo suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and the external meniscus of his right knee and will be off the courts for approximately seven months, so not only is he missing the rest of the season, but also the world championship event

.

The injury occurred on Monday, in Real Madrid's 0-1 loss to Getafe. The Brazilian hit the left wing, rested his foot to start and his leg was caught up in a dispute with Adrián Liso. The gesture of pain was immediate: he raised his leg, began to limp and fell on the grass. Despite the pain, the former Santos continued on the field for almost half an hour longer.

After the encounter, Rodrygo showed discomfort in the dressing room and was summoned for medical studies the next day. What initially seemed like a minor ailment ended up in a devastating diagnosis: complete rupture of the anterior cruciate and external meniscus. It is the first serious injury of his career and the longest he will face since his arrival in European football

.

The news has a full impact on Real Madrid and on the planning of Ancelotti, who considered the Brazilian a fixture for the 2026 World Cup.

His absence opens up a range of alternatives on the offensive front, where names like Vinícius, Raphinha, Matheus Cunha, Estevao, Gabriel Martinelli and even Neymar appear as options to fill a position that is now vacant.
