The Argentine Football Association (AFA) made it official that Darío Herrera will be the referee of the Superclasico between River and Boca, which will be played this Sunday 19th from 17:00 at the Monumental Stadium, for the 15th date of the Tournament Aperture. The Neuquín judge will thus have his seventh experience leading the most important match

in Argentine football.

In his record, he recorded a favorable balance against Xeneize, with three wins, two draws and a single victory for the Millionaire. His last time was in May 2023, when the Millonario won 1-0 at home with a penalty goal from Miguel Ángel Borja in a game that ended with multiple ejected after

a hot finish.

In addition, Herrera also led the memorable match for the Copa Libertadores 2015, marked by the pepper spray scandal in La Bombonera, which was later sanctioned by CONMEBOL with the elimination of the La Ribera club and the 3-0 victory for

Núñez's team.

For this commitment, he will be accompanied by Juan Pablo Belatti and Pablo González as line judges, while Juan Pafundi will be the fourth referee.

Meanwhile, Héctor Paletta will be in charge of the VAR together with Sebastián Habib.

Herrera comes to this match at a great professional moment, since he was recently selected as one of the Argentine referees who will participate in the 2026 World Cup, together with Yael Falcón Pérez and Facundo Tello, reinforcing his international profile in the run-up to a highly demanding match.
