Fernando Rambaldi's administration in La Calera marks a before and after in the administration of the resources provided by Cordovan taxpayers. Under the premise that “the State comes to work, not to steal from neighbors”, the mayor has already canceled more than 200 irregular contracts. These subjects represented phantom links of people who collected public assets without showing up to perform any
task in the municipality.
The sanitation included audits that resulted in the dismissal and criminal complaint of 20 other employees for serious crimes against municipal property. The charges detail requests for bribes, trout bills, fuel theft and clandestine electricity and sewer connections, among many other illegal acts. “We disarmed all the kiosks they had, where everyone was left with an extra income,” said the president forcefully
. In addition, all officials from the first to the last must fingerprint their time of entering and leaving the municipality.
End of privileges: mandatory biometric control for the entire political
establishment
Transparency in the public service was also part of their agenda, requiring the use of fingerprints to control the schedule of all municipal officials. Career workers express their amazement at an administration where “we see the mayor and the officials come every day to work, that didn't happen in previous efforts”. This measure ends the impunity of the old politics and ensures that every peso of the treasury responds to effective work

This fiscal policy made it possible to reallocate items to a historic wage reparation that covered accumulated inflation since 2019. Thanks to the savings generated by the removal of privileges, the city's salaries stopped being the lowest in the entire Córdoba region. In addition, all the increases that had been given in black for more than 10 years were laundered, with the benefit that this brings to assets, but also to
retirees. Mayor Rambaldi, to whom many blame his Catholicism, seems to have adopted the phrase of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians: “Whoever does not want to work, let him not eat”
Capital investment: new equipment to optimize public services The
modernization of La Calera materialized in the purchase of a fleet with 20 0km machines, new tools and uniforms for operators. One worker stated that he went from driving a 1982 model truck with fear for his physical integrity to a 2024 model with air conditioning. This renewal of physical capital ensures that residents' taxes translate into high-quality services and greater productivity

Mayor Rambaldi, to whom many blame his Catholicism, seems to have adopted the phrase of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians: “Whoever does not want to work, let him not eat”. The battle against structural corruption in La Calera shows that it is possible to transform the administration when there is political will and real transparency. Respect for honest workers and adequate equipment is the only way to rebuild national institutions.
