The Armed Forces of Ecuador announced the opening of a new quartering process amid the tightening of the security strategy promoted by the government of Daniel Noboa against organized crime in the country.
The call is aimed at young men between 18 and 21 years of age, who must appear on April 25 and 26, 2026 at different military centers in the country. As a previous step, interested parties must complete an online registration, where personal and background data are validated before proceeding with the selection process
.

Within this framework, quartering is part of a broader policy aimed at strengthening the state presence and expanding the response capacity of security forces. In recent months, the government has intensified measures such as military operations, states of emergency and territorial controls in areas considered critical
.
The decision is also part of a strategy that prioritizes the institutional strengthening of the armed forces as a central tool in the fight against organized crime. As reported, the incorporation process maintains regular characteristics of military service, although it occurs in a scenario of greater operational demand due to the security situation
.
The tightening of policies responds to a sustained deterioration in indicators of violence. In recent years, Ecuador has gone from being a transit country for drug trafficking to becoming a key point in transnational crime networks, with a significant increase in homicides and criminal activities linked to local and

In parallel, the Executive has sought to complement these measures with a comprehensive strategy that includes intelligence, financial control and international cooperation to weaken
narco-terrorist structures.
The call for quartering thus reflects an approach focused on expanding the State's human and operational resources at a time of high pressure on the security system. Beyond its administrative nature, the measure highlights the increasing role of the armed forces in internal tasks, in a context where the fight against organized crime has become a central priority on the Ecuadorian political agenda
