In the midst of the growing escalation of war in the Middle East and the open confrontation between Israel and the Iranian regime, the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas launched a direct appeal to Tehran to suspend bombing against neighboring countries in the Persian Gulf. The extremist organization said it was “deeply concerned” about the development of the regional conflict and, although it maintained that Iran has the right to defend itself against Israeli and American attacks, it maintained that the priority should be to stop the war. According to the movement itself, “the interest of the Islamic nation and the region lies in stopping this war.”
In a statement released through its digital channels, Hamas said that it “follows with deep concern” the evolution of a conflict that, according to its version, was triggered by a “US-Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which violates the rules of international law and international humanitarian law and threatens security and stability in the region and in the world.”

Based on this situation, the terrorist group stated that it “calls on all States and international organizations to work immediately to stop it” and also “expresses its appreciation for the efforts made by various countries to prevent the outbreak of war and to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy
”.However, the message also included a direct request to the Iranian regime. “While the movement affirms the right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to respond to this aggression by all available means, in accordance with international norms and laws, it calls on its brothers in Iran not to attack neighboring countries,” the group said in its statement. Hamas, a Sunni organization that maintains close political and military ties with the Iranian authorities, is part of the so-called “Axis of Resistance” against Israel, a Teheran-led bloc that brings together various militias and armed groups hostile to the Jewish State
