At least one person died and two others were seriously injured after the impact of an Iranian missile with a cluster warhead in central Israel on Monday.
The attack caused six impacts in different urban areas, including the cities of Yehud, Or Yehuda, Holon and Bat Yam.
The commander of the Tel Aviv District of the Israeli police, Haim Sargarof, confirmed that the missile was carrying a load of submunitions that dispersed after the main explosion.
As explained by the official, the two critically injured were outside shelters or safe rooms at the time of the impact.
“The incident could have ended only with material damage if they had complied with safety instructions,” Sargarof said.
A fatal victim on a construction site
The most serious impact occurred on a construction site in Yehud, where two workers in their 40s were hit by shrapnel.
One of them died from his injuries, while the second was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Another man was also seriously injured in Or Yehuda, according to medical teams that came
to the emergency.Paramedic Ori Lazarovitch, a member of the Magen David Adom emergency service, confirmed that two patients were evacuated in critical condition.
“We arrived at the site in minutes and are working to make sure we find everyone affected in the different scenarios,” he said.
