The president criticized the negative media coverage and recalled that the data show a clear improvement compared to 2023.

President Javier Milei published an extensive message in his X account in which he defended the economic direction of his administration, harshly criticized journalism and he assured that the country is doing much better than in 2023, after the serious economic crisis inherited from Kirchnerism.

Under the slogan “DATA FIRST”, the president stressed that there is a disconnect between what official statistics show and the approach of the media, totally biased and with a notable “anti-Milei” ideological bias.

“Journalism claims to be the voice of the people, but every day it becomes more exposed that they are nothing more than the voice of their friends... or directly of their bosses,” he said.

In her message, Milei said that economic data reflect a recovery and pointed at those who want to cover the sun with one hand. “We can discuss the methodology all we want, but the data are convincing: Argentina is much, MUCH better than in 2023. Whatever method they choose, the trend is the same. To deny empirical evidence by appealing to anecdotes is, quite simply, to go against four centuries of scientific progress,

” he said.

The President also focused on media coverage of the social situation, particularly around poverty. “It is unsustainable that 100% of television networks insist that 'everything is bad' when we have the lowest level of poverty in the last seven years. That's not analysis: it's a story,” he said.

Even so, the head of state clarified: “Does this mean that everyone is better? No. And it would be intellectually dishonest to say so. Improvement processes don't move at the same speed for everyone: the statistics reflect averages, and we know that there are people at the ends of the distribution,” he said.

Along these lines, he emphasized the need to sustain the current course. “That is precisely why we must persist: to normalize the economy and, with it, the lives of all Argentines. That is why we ask for patience. The course is the right one. To change it would be to blow up what has been achieved,” he said.

Milei also linked recent difficulties to the serious crisis inherited from the previous Kirchner administration and its coup attitude over the past year.

“We know that these last few months have been tough. And it's no accident: it's the cost of the bombs left behind by irresponsible Kirchner psychopaths who tried to blow up the economy last year. That doesn't come free: it meant higher rates, lower activity and more inflation,” he said.

However, he assured that the results can now be seen. “But the results are already in sight: the economy is starting to take off with force,” he said.

On closing the message, the President reinforced his position in the face of criticism: “They are not going to psychopath us. We know exactly what needs to be done and we're doing it.”
