The communist regime of Xi Jinping is deepening its policy of internal control with a new investigation against a senior leader of the Chinese Communist Party, in a clear sign that the purge of power structures continues to advance unrestrained.
As reported by the Chinese Communist Party itself, Ma Xingrui, a member of the Politburo, one of the most influential bodies in the country, is being investigated for “serious violations of discipline and law”. The investigation was announced by the regime's internal control bodies, without the specific accusations being detailed so far

The case is not an isolated one. With this decision, at least three members of the highest political level have been displaced or investigated so far this year, including key military figures. This series of measures shows an intensification of the control campaign promoted by Xi, which for years has become a central tool of his
government strategy.
Ma Xingrui had held positions of great importance within the Chinese system, including the political leadership of the Sinkiang region, a territory that was particularly sensitive both because of its strategic weight and because of international complaints about genocide and human rights violations by the communist regime against locals. Its fall, therefore, has not only an internal impact, but also an international projection.

Analysts point out that this offensive is not limited to the fight against corruption, as the party affirms, but also responds to a logic of consolidating power. Through these investigations, the Chinese leadership seeks to reinforce party discipline and eliminate possible pockets of dissent within
the state structure.
Since coming to power, Xi Jinping has launched one of the most extensive cleansing campaigns within the Communist Party, which has reached both senior civilian officials and the military leadership. However, the magnitude and frequency of recent investigations mark a turning point, with a level of direct intervention in the highest decision-making bodies rarely seen in
recent decades.
In this context, the new research confirms that the process of concentration of power in China continues to deepen, in a scenario where internal stability seems to depend increasingly on absolute loyalty to the central leadership.
