The Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, Scott Bessent, once again expressed strong support for the Government of Javier Milei and assured that the reform process in Argentina represents a global success story.
During his participation in an event at the Institute of International Finance, Donald Trump's official emphasized the results achieved by the current administration.
“Argentina has been a fantastic success. They are accumulating reserves every day. Tens of millions of people have been lifted out of poverty and it is very interesting to see that the poorest and the youngest voted for the government of Javier Milei. There is optimism there,” said Bessent
.The statements are part of a line of sustained support from the Trump administration for the Argentine government, which has already included financial assistance, trade agreements and political support in favor of the libertarian
economic program. In his presentation, Bessent also focused on the role of multilateral organizations in the Argentine process, in particular the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. “The IMF was willing to say that this time it was different with Argentina, and Argentina has been a resounding success,” he said, while congratulating the agency's managing director, Kristalina Georgieva, for the strategy adopted against the country
