Serious anti-Semitic attack in Rosario: an explosive was sent to the clinic of the head of the DAIA

The events that shock public opinion occurred this Wednesday, May 6, in the city of Rosario, an area that, despite the historic siege of crime, today has a national State determined not to retreat a single inch in the face of terror. The target of the attack was the Pilares del Rosario clinic, a rehabilitation center located on 2000 Paraguay Street, in the heart of the Abasto neighborhood.

The seriousness of the event lies in the fact that the person responsible for the establishment is Gabriel Dobkin, 50, who serves as head of the local DAIA delegation.

The plot of the attack began in the afternoon, when the Ocasa parcel service delivered an order that generated immediate suspicion, since it had not been requested by the clinic's staff. Faced with the alert, the intervention of the explosives brigade of Regional Unit II was requested, whose technical staff acted with the speed that current times demand.

The details of the device sent reveal a malicious intent: it was a box that hid a 12-pack of Phillips Morris cigarettes, suspiciously wrapped in transparent tape. The experts noticed that the lump weighed more than normal. The professionalism of the security forces was key: a police detector dog twice marked the presence of explosives inside the container. Investigators confirmed to the press that the device contained a “substance” whose exact nature is under investigation, but which posed

a real threat.

Faced with imminent danger, the police forces proceeded with a strict protocol: A security perimeter was established, restricting traffic at the intersection of Paraguay and Ituzaingó streets.

Members of the motorized brigade guarded the area to ensure the peace of neighbors and family members who were waiting during visiting hours.

Finally, the specialists dug a pit in the backyard of the premises and carried out a controlled detonation of the substance to neutralize the risk.

From the judicial level, the Flagrance Public Prosecutor's Unit of the Public Prosecutor's Office has already taken action on the matter, ordering the survey of video surveillance cameras and the taking of testimonies to find those responsible for this act of hate.

This episode adds to a worrying series of attacks, such as the recent launch of a Molotov cocktail at a Jewish community center in La Plata, which reinforces the need for the heavy-handed policy against anti-Semitism that drives the current national administration. From the official Instagram account of DAIA Rosario, the institution issued a strong statement that is in line with the demand for justice of the majority of Argentines: “These events must be condemned without nuance and faced decisively. It is not enough to point out: it is essential to act”.

The entity was also clear in warning that the era of contemplation with crime is over: “Impunity cannot be an option. Every unsanctioned act of anti-Semitism is a message of tolerance for hate.
