The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that the American armed forces carried out one of the most powerful bombings recorded in the Middle East against military objectives of the Iranian regime on the island of Kharg, a strategic point in the Persian Gulf.
Through a message posted on his social networks, the president stated that the attack was carried out by the United States Central Command under his direction and that US forces managed to destroy all the military targets identified in the area.

As Trump explained, the operation focused exclusively on military objectives located on the island, which he described as a “strategic jewel” of the Iranian regime. The offensive, he said, was designed to weaken Iran's defensive and operational capabilities in one of the most sensitive areas for Gulf security
.
The American president argued that the weapons used by his country's forces represent the most sophisticated and powerful military equipment in the world. In this context, he stated that the operation was carried out with a forcefulness that left Iranian defenses on the island unable to respond

However, Trump noted that he deliberately decided not to attack the oil infrastructure located on Kharg Island, despite its strategic relevance. He explained that he chose to limit the scope of the attack for “reasons of decency”, avoiding destroying energy facilities that constitute one of the main economic assets of the
Persian country.
Even so, the president left a direct warning to the Iranian regime. He noted that if Iran or any other actor attempts to interfere with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will immediately reconsider its decision and could expand military operations, including attacks
on energy facilities. 90% of the Iranian oil industry depends on the island.
In his message, Trump also reiterated one of the main lines of his foreign policy towards Tehran: preventing the Iranian regime from obtaining nuclear weapons. The president assured that Iran has no capacity to defend itself against U.S. military power if Washington decides to act again

Finally, the president urged Iranian leaders to abandon any military escalation and maintained that the most prudent thing would be for them to lay down their arms and preserve what is left of their country. The announcement marks a new escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran and opens up a scenario of strong uncertainty in the Middle East
