Aconcagua Energía confirms investments in Mendoza after meeting with Cornejo

Governor Alfredo Cornejo met with the new leadership of Aconcagua Energía

The governor of Mendoza,  Alfredo Cornejo, accompanied by the Minister of Energy and Environment, Jimena Latorre, received the delegation from Aconcagua Energía led by its new CEO, Pablo Iuliano. During the meeting, the company presented the guidelines of its work plan following a recent financial and corporate restructuring process.

The meeting was also attended by provincial authorities, such as the Undersecretary of Energy and Mining, Manuel Sánchez Bandini, and the Director of Hydrocarbons, Lucas Erio. Meanwhile, the company's finance, operations, and institutional relations executives were present.

Projects in Payún Oeste and conventional areas

Minister Latorre highlighted that the company reaffirmed its commitment to maintain and increase production in the province. One of the main points is the unconventional block Payún Oeste, in Malargüe, where Aconcagua Energía confirmed an investment plan of 8 million dollars over ten years, with 7 million to be executed in the first five.

The program includes the reactivation of inactive wells, geological studies, drilling, infrastructure, and environmental remediation in a block that had been inactive for more than a decade.

Additionally, the company operates in Mendoza in areas such as Chañares Herrados, Puesto Pozo Cercado Oriental, Atuel Norte Explotación, and Confluencia Sur, with investments already committed for more than 130 million dollars.

Renewable energy and diversification

Meanwhile, Aconcagua Energía is making progress in clean energy with the commissioning of the Aconcagua I (90 MW) and Aconcagua III (25 MW) solar parks in Luján de Cuyo. Both projects are already supplying electricity to the national grid, consolidating energy diversification in the province.

The company's relaunch took place after a financial restructuring process that achieved more than 94% adherence. In this context, Tango Energy acquired 93% of the share capital of Aconcagua Energía and its subsidiary, injecting resources of 36 million dollars and raising the capital to $28.5 billion.

This support will strengthen the company's equity, guarantee operational efficiency, and boost the development of Vaca Muerta.

Mendoza as an energy hub

With Pablo Iuliano's arrival at the helm of Aconcagua Energía, the province strengthens its position on the national energy map. The company's commitment to investments in hydrocarbons and renewable energy reflects confidence in Mendoza's natural and professional conditions to lead Argentina's energy future.
