Mendoza: Cornejo and Petri launched the electoral alliance and presented their candidates

Alfredo Cornejo and Luis Petri made official the list of the 'LLA + Cambia Mendoza' alliance for the October 26 elections, in support of Javier Milei's project

Governor Alfredo Cornejo and the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, presented the candidates of the La Libertad Avanza + Cambia Mendoza coalition. The province will decide five seats in the Chamber of Deputies and will renew positions in the provincial Legislature.

With this move, Mendoza becomes one of the key provinces where the local ruling party merges with Javier Milei's coalition. Cornejo is one of four governors who have signed agreements with La Libertad Avanza, along with Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Jorge Macri (CABA), and Leandro Zdero (Chaco).

The Mendoza leader emphasized that the alliance is born from shared management principles and that many of the transformations promoted by Milei have already been implemented in Mendoza for years.

"This election is not about names, but about supporting a direction and a management concept. If President Milei does well, Mendoza will also do well," stated Cornejo.

The governor asserted that his administration has demonstrated that it is possible to govern responsibly and to guarantee essential services such as health, education, and security.

In a political shift, Luis Petri will head the national deputies' ticket for the coalition. He will be accompanied by Pamela Verasay, who is seeking re-election, as well as Álvaro Martínez, María Julieta Metral Asensio, and Mauricio Pinti Clop.

Petri confirmed his departure from the UCR to join Milei's party. He indicated that the major political battle is in Congress, against Kirchnerism and the "populist state" that blocks reforms.

A challenging political scenario

With this move, Cornejo seeks to secure a victory in Mendoza and strengthen his national influence. With no possibility of re-election, the governor aims to maintain centrality in the political scene, while names for his succession are already being discussed.

The alliance with Milei reinforces Mendoza's projection as a key stronghold of the libertarian ruling party in the country's interior.
