Aerolíneas Argentinas continues to clean up: they fired a flight attendant who missed 130 days
In agreement with the union, a cabin crew member was dismissed for missing 130 days between vacations and leaves out of the 180 working days
Within the framework of a new stage of professionalization and internal order, Aerolíneas Argentinas managed to finalize the dismissal of a cabin crew member, following an agreement with the Aeronavegantes union.
The case involves an employee who had been absent for 130 days between vacations and leaves out of the 180 working days. Therefore, the company, together with the union, agreed to dismiss the cabin crew member.
Belén Foutatie, who joined the company in July 2023, accumulated in just a year and a half a total of 10 Monthly Schedules (PM) with 23 days of leave. Additionally, she added 65 days between vacations and leaves (VOP), reaching 130 non-working days in just 41 PMs.

It is important to note that medium and short-haul cabin crew work up to 18 or 20 days a month.
Far from allowing this type of behavior to become normalized, the current management of Aerolíneas chose to act with rigor and professionalism. It did so by respecting all legal and union procedures.
Additionally, it reached an agreement with the union that allowed the worker to receive full severance pay, despite the accumulated record enabling a dismissal with cause.
This is an event that marks a turning point in the company's human resources policy and reflects the current management's strong commitment to operational efficiency and administrative responsibility.
Meanwhile, this administration has been promoting key measures to clean up the accounts of the state-owned company, such as closing offices with low activity levels across the country, digitizing procedures, and increasing demands on labor standards.
Due to these measures, the company projects to repeat financial balance in 2025, after recording an operating surplus of more than USD 20 million in 2024.
All these actions aim to build a sustainable, modern, and competitive Aerolíneas, without relinquishing rights but demanding responsibilities.
