The coup march organized by Kirchnerism this Wednesday, June 18, in Plaza de Mayo, in support of the corrupt former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner after her house arrest, not only caused chaos in downtown Buenos Aires.

It also left an economic cost that Buenos Aires taxpayers will have to pay: the cleaning and repair operation will cost 237 million pesos, according to estimates from the City Government. This cost applies only to Plaza de Mayo, while for Congress a sum will have to be allocated that has not yet been calculated.

The calculation covers expenses arising from cleaning and repairing the area between the former president's residence in the Monserrat neighborhood and Plaza de Mayo, the epicenter of the rally.

The official report states that it will be necessary to deploy a special operation that will include 260 street sweepers, 15 pressure washers, 13 garbage trucks, 42 supervisors, 15 immediate action brigades, and the cost of the preventive removal of 175 waste containers.

In addition to personnel and machinery costs, material damage to public benches, urban furniture, and containers was recorded, which will now have to be replaced or repaired.

Images after the event show streets covered in posters, torn-down signs, graffiti on buildings, and accumulated dirt, which once again demonstrates Kirchnerist groups' disregard for public spaces.

The reported amount doesn't include the cleaning and control operation carried out at the National Congress, where there were also demonstrations and gatherings. They assure that this cost will be reported in the coming hours and will be added to the already hefty bill left by the mobilization in Plaza de Mayo.

A bill everyone pays

The day of mobilization, promoted by unions, social organizations, and Kirchnerist leaders under the slogan "Argentina with Cristina", had a strong political content, but once again those who had nothing to do with it will pay the price: ordinary citizens.
