The anticipation for Derecha Fest is building: Agustín Laje explained why Córdoba is right-wing

The liberal political scientist stated that the event at Hotel Quorum would be 'a historic event.'

Just days before the Derecha Fest, the major event that will take place on July 22 in Córdoba, liberal political scientist Agustín Laje shared his anticipation for what he considers will be "a historic event."

"Expectations for Derecha Fest are high for several reasons. First, Córdoba is a stronghold of anti-Kirchnerism. Kirchnerism has always had disastrous elections in Córdoba, and moreover, I would venture to say that Córdoba is a province leaning to the right," stated one of the leaders of the movement and the cultural battle.

The gathering at the Quorum Hotel, for which tickets are almost sold out, will feature the presence of President Javier Milei, Laje himself, La Derecha Diario owner Javier Negre, Gordo Dan, Diego Recalde, and Nicolás Márquez, among other prominent figures.

"Córdoba has become a stronghold of Milei's movement," Laje continued.

"Let us remember that in the runoff, in November 2023, Javier Milei received more than 74% of the votes in Córdoba and that he chose Córdoba to close his campaign ahead of the runoff against Massa," he stated.

Laje also indicated that Derecha Fest will serve to warm up for the October elections.

"We are already experiencing a clearly electoral atmosphere. We are just around the corner from October, people are discussing politics, and they increasingly understand that in October, Argentina's future will be decided and that for the Government this is a kind of plebiscite," he asserted.

The liberal political scientist highlighted the quality of the participants at the gathering, which he described as "historic." He also trusts that the response from the people of Córdoba will be impressive.

-How do you see Córdoba's Peronism?

-Córdoba's Peronism is very worn out, people are tired of Governor Martín Llaryora's mismanagement; people are tired of paying taxes, for example, so that Llaryora can praise himself by buying media outlets and compliant journalists. This year, for example, the official propaganda budget allocation is 38,000 million pesos (83,775,661 pounds), that is, about 33 or 34 million dollars for the friends of Córdoba's journalism who, with prostitutes hired by Llaryora. In that sense, they are afraid because they know that Javier Milei and his candidates will sweep in October. Even within Llaryora's own government, they are talking about a landslide of 50 to 20.

-Are you going to be a candidate or do your obligations in Spain prevent you?

-I know that at some point I will have to enter the political arena. The problem I currently have is that I am finishing my doctorate in Spain. I have half a year left in 2026 and after that, I will be free for whatever President Javier Milei decides.
