A new scandal shakes the communist judge of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes after documents revealed his personal intervention in the final version of a multimillion-dollar contract between his wife's law firm, Viviane Barci de Moraes, and Banco Master, an entity later liquidated amid a serious financial scandal.
The agreement contemplated approximately R$ 131 million in fees for the Barci de Moraes Sociedade de Advogados law firm. According to metadata extracted from the cell phone of businessman Daniel Vorcaro, linked to Banco Master, the profile identified as "Minister Alexandre de Moraes" appears as the last editor of one of the documents related to the contract.
Viviane Barci's own law firm acknowledged that the magistrate reviewed the document. The contract included the representation of the bank's interests before various Brazilian agencies and institutions, including the Central Bank, the Receita Federal, Congress, and the Federal Police.
The revelations again place one of Brazil's most powerful judges under intense scrutiny, who in recent years has been at the center of judicial decisions against Jair Bolsonaro, his family, and other leaders of the main opposition force to the regime of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The case also involves Vorcaro, who has already acknowledged criminal conduct linked to the investigation surrounding Banco Master. This was compounded by messages revealed during the investigation in which the businessman sought help and communication with Moraes, while new elements continue to emerge regarding the ties surrounding the financial entity.
Flávio Bolsonaro, the favorite presidential candidate of the Brazilian right, directly demanded Moraes' resignation, while other opposition leaders began to call for an impeachment process against the Supreme Court member.
The episode adds pressure on a magistrate whose actions have been questioned by bolsonarism. Moraes has led numerous resolutions against former president Jair Bolsonaro and his circle, including the recent imposition of severe restrictions on his family visits and political communications.

The controversy also arises after an open microphone captured Lula informally inviting Moraes to "have a coffee", an episode that fueled opposition questions about the closeness between the Executive Power and members of the highest court.
According to information known about the Banco Master case, even Lula had warned months ago about the consequences that the controversy could have for Moraes and had advised him to declare himself impeded. The magistrate's appearance as the last editor of the document now deepens the scandal.
