Alta Gracia was the Latin American epicenter of BMX, with more than 500 competitors.

The city of Córdoba established itself as a benchmark in sports and tourism after a weekend with a large turnout

Alta Gracia experienced four days of maximum intensity with the hosting of three international BMX tournaments. The schedule included the Argentine Tournament, the South American Championship, and the Latin American Cup. All the events took place at the municipal track, renovated for the occasion, from August 14 to 17.

The event featured the participation of more than 500 riders from several countries in the region. Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, and Guatemala, among others, were represented in the competition. The massive presence of athletes and their families also caused a strong tourism impact on the city.

Practice sessions began on Thursday, August 14, with track inspection, while Friday was the day of the opening ceremony. Mayor Marcos Torres highlighted the collaborative work with the BMX Parents' Committee and the sustained commitment to sports. During the weekend, the South American finals and the Latin American Cup were held, concluding with the awards ceremony.

A sporting legacy that keeps growing

The recent victory of Alta Gracia native Mateo Espejo at the BMX Racing World Championship in Denmark further increased the visibility of the discipline. Alongside historical figures such as Gabriela and Analía Díaz, he demonstrated that the city is a breeding ground for talent.

These achievements inspire new generations to enthusiastically join the sport. The mega-event established Alta Gracia as a strategic venue for international-scale sporting competitions.

In addition to the sporting aspect, tourism was boosted by the arrival of thousands of visitors. This confirms the positive impact that this event had on the city of Córdoba. This way, Alta Gracia reaffirms its profile as a destination where sports, infrastructure, and hospitality coexist.
