Aluar announced a decrease of up to 25% in domestic market prices

Aluar, the national aluminum producer, announced a significant price drop for the market

In a concrete example of how the new game rules promoted by President  Javier Milei are deeply reforming the Argentine economy, the country's largest aluminum producer, Aluar, announced a reduction of up to 25% in its prices for the local market during the current quarter. The measure affects distributors and industrial customers and responds, according to the company, to "the evolution of local variables", an expression that directly refers to the readjustment of relative prices following the economic transparency initiated in December 2023.

The decision marks a structural change in the setting of internal prices. Aluar  explained that its new commercial policies are aimed at accompanying the market with responsibility and a long-term vision, maintaining a competitive and sustainable offer, in line with the import prices of the metal, but adapted to the differential charges of the Argentine market.

"The decision responds to our commitment to maintain a competitive and sustainable offer, accompanying our customers with responsibility and a long-term vision", expressed the firm led by Javier Madanes Quintanilla.

The announcement has strategic weight: aluminum  is a key input  for multiple industries  (automotive, construction, food, energy), so this cost reduction positively affects  the entire production chain. Aluar, which exports 70% of its production and supplies the domestic market with the remaining 30%, thus becomes a central player in consolidating the new liberal economic paradigm.

According to official company data, Aluar has a production capacity of 460,000 tons of primary aluminum annually with an average purity of 99.83%, generating employment for 2,253 workers. Since its inception, the company has tripled its installed capacity, partly thanks to a sustained policy of investments  and a vertically integrated structure that includes everything from the production of extrusions and laminates to the generation and transportation of electrical energy.

Aluar also operates with the concession of Hidroeléctrica Futaleufú, a key electricity generator for its production, and participates in Transpa, a high-voltage electricity transporter. With over 40 years  of experience, export presence in markets such as the United States, Brazil, Japan, and Germany, and international management standards, Aluar reaffirms with this measure its confidence in the new economic direction.
