Amazon is aiming to control AI with another multimillion-dollar investment in Anthropic.
Amazon is considering a new investment in Anthropic to strengthen its position in the global artificial intelligence business
The alliance between Amazon and Anthropic continues to grow. Jeff Bezos's company is considering adding billions of dollars to its previous investment in this artificial intelligence startup.
With this move, it seeks to strengthen its position against rivals such as Microsoft and Google, which are already advancing with their own models and platforms.

Amazon wants to dominate the AI infrastructure business
The new investment would be added to the US$8 billion that Amazon has already committed. The goal is to position itself as the main provider of services and training for Anthropic's models.
In this context, it plans to promote projects such as Project Rainier in Indiana, a large-scale data center that will use its own Trainium2 chips to accelerate AI training tasks.
A strategic bet in full expansion
Additionally, Amazon seeks to expand its cloud services offering with solutions optimized for generative artificial intelligence. Its intention is to become a central player in the upcoming technology ecosystem.

Although there is clear synergy with Anthropic, the relationship is not free from tensions. Amazon is also developing its own AI models, which could lead to conflicts of interest in the future.
Anthropic: a key startup on the AI map
Founded by former OpenAI researchers, Anthropic is already one of the most valuable emerging companies in the world. Currently, its valuation exceeds US$61.5 billion, with projected annual revenues above US$4 billion.

Although Amazon is one of its main investors, it still doesn't exceed 33% of the share capital. This means it doesn't have direct control over the startup's decisions.
