The president of Talleres from Córdoba, Andrés Fassi, managed to sign an important piece to strengthen the forward line of the team led by Jorge Sampaoli.
It is Agustín Álvarez Martínez, 25 years old, from Uruguay, who comes from playing in European football.
The forward went through his formative process at Peñarol de Montevideo, the team with which he made his debut in the First Division in September 2020.
Wearing the Carbonero jersey, he played 90 matches and scored 34 goals. With the Montevideo team, he won the Uruguayan Clausura Tournament 2021, the Uruguayan Championship 2021, and the Uruguayan Supercup 2022.
In 2022, the Uruguayan forward was transferred to Sassuolo in Italy, a team where he played 23 matches. He then played on loan at the Italian Sampdoria and at Elche in Spain.
His last club was Monza in Italy, a team where he was a key player in 25 matches. He also has experience with the U-20 national team and the senior national team of Uruguay.
Agustín Álvarez Martínez arrives at the Institution on loan until June 30, 2027 with a purchase option in favor of Talleres.
