With eight athletes representing the country, the national delegation achieved its best result in Super-G and standout performances in luge and cross-country

After just over two weeks of competition in Milan-Cortina the Argentine delegation brought its participation in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games to an end with an encouraging balance. With eight representatives, the largest presence since Turin 2006, the national team achieved historic results and confirmed sustained growth in several disciplines.
The most striking performance came in alpine skiing. Tiziano Gravier finished 28th in Super-G and set the best mark by an Argentine in that Olympic event. Francesca Baruzzi, the team's flag bearer, also stood out, as she finished 29th in Giant Slalom and once again positioned herself as one of the Latin American leaders in the specialty.

Together with young Nicole Begué, 19 years old, 30th place in downhill, Baruzzi also achieved a notable 17th place in the alpine combined, a discipline that demands a high technical level and physical endurance.
In cross-country skiing, Bariloche native Franco Dal Farra delivered one of the most demanding moments of the closing. In the 50 kilometers (31.07 miles), considered the "queen event", he finished 39th in a race marked by the toughness of the course in Tesero: 22 of the 65 competitors dropped out and Dal Farra was the only Latin American to cross the finish line.
Meanwhile, the best individual result of the delegation was achieved by Verónica Ravenna in luge, with a 22nd place that confirms her consistency in the elite of the discipline. As an additional fact, Ravenna also became the first South American woman to participate in three Olympic editions in the history of the discipline (2018, 2022, and 2026).

The Argentine team was completed by Nahiara Díaz, Agustina Groetzner, and Mateo Sauma in cross-country skiing, who gained Olympic experience against the Nordic powerhouses in changing snow conditions.
The Argentine Ski and Mountaineering Federation described the balance as "more than positive", especially because of the youth of several members of the squad. Without medals, but with historic marks and signs of progress, Argentina said goodbye to Italy with a sense of growth.
