The NASA revealed new details about Artemis III, a mission that represents a fundamental step within the space program aimed at returning astronauts to the Moon and paving the way for future expeditions to Mars.
The announcement was made through the official channels of the U.S. space agency and provided information on who the astronauts will be that will star in this historic journey, as well as the objectives and schedule planned for the launch.
The mission is scheduled for 2027 and will primarily aim to validate technologies and procedures that will be used in the next stages of the Artemis program.

Who are the astronauts of Artemis III
The crew will consist of four astronauts with extensive experience in space exploration.
The commander will be Randy Bresnik, a veteran NASA astronaut who has already participated in various missions and accumulated hundreds of days in orbit.
Alongside him will travel Andre Douglas and Frank Rubio, who will serve as mission specialists. Both are part of NASA's astronaut corps and will play a key role in executing the maneuvers planned during the flight.
The fourth member will be the Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano, representative of the European Space Agency (ESA), who will hold the position of mission pilot.
