Onorina was born in 1913 in Castellero, Asti province, Piedmont region, Italy.
At the age of 20, she settled in Río Tercero, where she started her family: she had two children and more than a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Onorina, a symbol for Río Tercero
Since she turned 100, she became a true symbol for the Río Tercero community.
Each anniversary, neighbors, institutions, and authorities paid tribute to her, highlighting her longevity and the value of her testimony as a living memory of the city.
At 112 years old (247 pounds), she ranked 43rd in the list of the world's oldest people.
The story, marked by immigration, work, and family, remains an example of life in Córdoba province.
The secret to living 100 years
"There is no secret, just live peacefully," Onorina once said in a soft yet firm voice.
She avoided medication as much as she could, no cigarettes or alcohol.
Until the age of 107, she went for a walk every day.
Her diet was always simple and natural: broth, vegetables, fruit, and very little sugar.
"I never liked sweet things," she said with a knowing smile.
