The Millonario's forward suffered a tear in the biceps femoris and will require between 15 and 21 days for recovery
River suffered a hard blow beyond the defeat against Palmeiras 2-1 at the Más Monumental, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores. Sebastián Driussi, who left at the beginning of the second half due to discomfort, underwent medical tests and has been ruled out for the rematch in São Paulo.
The medical report confirmed that the 29-year-old forward has a tear in the biceps femoris of his left leg, with an estimated recovery time of between 15 and 21 days. Therefore, he will not be able to play next Wednesday, September 24, at Allianz Parque.
Driussi estará fuera entre dos y tres semanas
With Driussi out, Marcelo Gallardo will have to decide who will take his place in the attack. The candidates are Facundo Colidio and Miguel Ángel Borja, who are competing to partner Maximiliano Salas, confirmed as a starter.
A concerning string of injuries
The truth is that this new injury adds to a series of injuries that have marked Driussi's return to River at the beginning of the year. In March he suffered a myofascial tear that sidelined him for three weeks, in June he sustained a severe ankle sprain that kept him off the field for almost two months, and in August, he experienced discomfort in that same area that caused him to miss another match.

Now, with this tear in the biceps femoris, the forward has already accumulated 80 days of inactivity and has missed 12 matches across domestic tournaments, Copa Libertadores, and Club World Cup.
