Hooligans and union members engaged in a shootout at the Gonnet hospital
The confrontation, in which knives and firearms were used, has so far resulted in six injured
Moments of extreme tension were experienced this Monday in La Plata when a violent fight broke out at the San Roque Hospital in Gonnet between barrabravas and union members. The confrontation, in which knives and firearms were used, has so far left a toll of six injured.
The incident began past noon, after a person with a stab wound entered the emergency room of the health center.
Around 2 PM, a group of individuals at the hospital's entrance, located on 508 Street, started a confrontation that soon moved inside the building.
From the Provincial Ministry of Health, they revealed that at least five more people were injured. "The injured are being treated and are undergoing diagnosis," they detailed.

From the 13th precinct in Gonnet, they confirmed that "there was a confrontation between barrabravas and union members," although they did not specify if any arrests were made.
During the fight, the rival groups, identified with the fan bases of the main clubs in La Plata, exchanged insults like "Murderers. Cowards. Fags," while attacking each other with firearms and knives.
Due to the conflict, a large part of the hospital's emergency room had to be evacuated. Some patients managed to escape, while others were trapped along with medical staff amid the chaos.
The main hypothesis of the investigators suggests that the fight originated when a barrabrava from Gimnasia's fan base, injured, arrived at the hospital accompanied by members of his group. Later, followers of Estudiantes' fan base showed up to confront them, sparking the brawl.
According to media reports, the conflict began earlier at the reopening ceremony of Plaza San Martín, in front of the Governor's Office, on 50 Street between 6 and 7.

The event was attended by Iván Tobar, a leader of a UOCRA faction with ties to Estudiantes' fan base. At the end of the ceremony, a group of approximately 50 members of Gimnasia's fan base, led by Cristian "El Volador" Camilleri, attempted to ambush Tobar, leading to a fight in which a second-line member of Gimnasia's fan base was injured and taken to San Roque Hospital in Gonnet.
The conflict later moved to the La Loma neighborhood, in the area of 15 and 38, and culminated at the hospital, located at 508 and 19, where the injured was hospitalized.
Tobar managed to escape the attack in the plaza, but his associates went to the hospital in search of the injured and the Gimnasia fans joining him.
There, new assaults occurred with chases, threats, gunfire, and clashes with stones and sticks. So far, six people have been injured, and the police are tracking down those responsible to arrest them.
