Assault during live broadcast

The episode took place at 3:48 PM, when the journalist was trying to gather testimonies amid the demonstration. At that moment, an individual approached and poured the contents of a beer can over his head, also affecting the cameraman. The scene was captured by the channel's cameras and quickly went viral on social media.

During the broadcast, the reporter confronted the assailant:

Fornataro: "Why are you assaulting us?"

Protester: "No, I'm not assaulting you, brother."

Fornataro: "What do you mean you're not? You're drenching me in beer."

Protester: "Have a drink."

The journalist insisted that there was no reason for the assault and asked the protester what he was trying to achieve with his behavior.

Assailant's remorse and Débora Plager's statements

After a few minutes of tension, the assailant showed remorse and apologized to the journalist:

"Sorry, man. I'm not achieving anything. You know I'm not achieving anything. Forgive me. I'm an idiot."

He then tried to justify his actions by mentioning the journalist's work:

"It's not because of your work, because you're a person who works and earns a living and you're probably off the books."

In response, Fornataro clarified that he doesn't work off the books and explained that his behavior had been completely unjustified.

From the studio, host Débora Plager condemned what happened and asked the journalist to leave the area for safety:

"These are people who are evidently under the influence of some substance. The contrast between such a wonderful young man we were just talking to and this... it's outrageous and a shameful display of intolerance."

The episode sparked a strong debate on social media about  violence against the press and the lack of tolerance in certain sectors of society.
