Bayer Leverkusen bought Equi Fernández: the millionaire sum that Boca will receive
The Argentine midfielder will join the German team and will bring a substantial sum to the Ribera club
Ezequiel "Equi" Fernández, one of the most outstanding talents to emerge from Boca's youth academy in recent years, is once again at the center of the European transfer market scene. The midfielder, a key player in the Xeneize squad that reached the 2023 Copa Libertadores final before being transferred to Al-Qadisiyah for 20 million dollars, has taken a new step in his career.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a journalist specializing in the transfer market, Bayer Leverkusenpurchased the transfer rights of the 23-year-old playerfor 30 million euros plus a 15% capital gain. He also added that the first part of the medical examination to join the German team will take place in Saudi Arabia.

In this regard, although Fernández moved to Arab football a year ago, Boca will benefit from this transfer. Through the solidarity mechanism that rewards clubs developing players between the ages of 12 and 23, Xeneize will receive approximately 1.5 million euros.
Equi's numbers in Arabia
Since his arrival at Al-Qadisiyah in 2024, Fernández has played 37 official matches, in which he scored one goal and provided four assists. His team finished fourth in the Saudi Pro League and reached the final of the King’s Cup, where they were unable to win the title.
