Departures at Boca: Saracchi is leaving for Celtic, and Taborda is close to moving to Greece.
The Uruguayan full-back will leave on loan to Scottish football, while Panathinaikos wants to keep the majority of the rights to the midfielder who currently plays for Platense
Boca continues to be active in the transfer market, although this time more with departures than arrivals. In recent hours, the club confirmed the loan of Marcelo Saracchi to Celtic of Scotland for one year and is making progress in negotiations to transfer Vicente Taborda, currently at Platense, to Greek football.
The Saracchi case seemed inevitable. The Uruguayan full-back was not considered by Miguel Ángel Russo and was training separately from the first team squad. His wish was to leave and finally Celtic came forward with a proposal that appealed to all parties: loan with a fee, purchase option, and the possibility of relaunching his career in Europe. In the coming days, he will travel to London to undergo medical examinations and process his visa.

His departure frees up a spot in the squad, although from the Football Council, with Juan Román Riquelme at the helm, they assure that they do not plan to bring in anyone unless a very convenient market opportunity arises.
The Uruguayan had arrived in August 2023 and played 52 matches wearing the blue and gold jersey, in which he scored four goals. However, after getting few minutes in the Club World Cup, he lost ground with Russo and was left out of the group, so his departure seemed only a matter of time.
Meanwhile, the situation of Taborda is also progressing. Panathinaikos of Greece offered 4.5 million dollars for 80% of his transfer rights, intending to take him immediately. If he leaves, Boca would retain the remaining 20% with a view to a future resale.
Given this situation, Xeneize has already opened talks with Platense, which holds 10% of the rights and the federative rights, and at the La Ribera club there is optimism that the transfer will go through without obstacles.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who came up through Boca's youth divisions, was one of the key players in Platense's historic title in the Torneo Apertura. After a previous spell at Calamar in 2022/23, he returned on loan for the last season and ended up establishing himself as a key piece.
At Boca, however, he was unable to establish himself: he played only 17 official matches, most of them in the first half of 2024 with Diego Martínez as head coach. His sale would represent significant income and the chance to retain a portion of his economic rights.
This way, Boca is approaching the end of the transfer window prioritizing internal order and capitalizing on sales, rather than adding new faces.
