Boca could receive a multi-million dollar sum for the possible sale of a former player
Xeneize will receive a significant amount of money for having developed the player if his transfer is ultimately completed
In the midst of the transfer market, Boca could receive good news with Mateo Retegui as the main figure. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Al-Qadsiah from Saudi Arabia is preparing a formal offer of 50 to 60 million euros to acquire the 26-year-old forward, top scorer of last season's Serie A and a key player for Atalanta. If this happens, Xeneize would receive a significant amount of money.

The proposal would arrive this Thursday, July 3, after several failed attempts by the Saudi club for other forwards such as Moise Kean, Riccardo Orsolini, and Jonathan David (who will join Juventus). With the financial backing of its recent promotion to the Saudi Pro League, Al-Qadsiah is looking to make a statement in the market by signing a forward with international stature.
The Italo-Argentine had a breakthrough season: 49 matches, 28 goals, and 9 assists with Atalanta, in addition to establishing himself as a key player for the Italian national team. His contract with the Bergamo club ends in June 2028, but his name is also of interest in other leagues and powerful teams. One example is Milan, which has held preliminary talks to add him as a replacement for Tammy Abraham, although there is no concrete offer at the moment.
If the deal with Al-Qadsiah is finalized, several Argentine clubs would benefit from thesolidarity mechanism, but the biggest winner would be Boca, where he debuted in 2018, since it could receive about 1.5 million euros. The other beneficiaries would be:
- River, which participated in his youth development, would receive about 300 thousand euros.
- Estudiantes de La Plata, Talleres de Córdoba, and Tigre would each receive about 150 thousand euros.
