Xeneize defeated Tiburón 2-0 thanks to headers from Di Lollo and Battaglia and achieved three consecutive victories
Little by little, Boca is starting to regain its smile after several setbacks throughout the year. Xeneize defeated Aldosivi 2-0 on Matchday 7 of the Torneo Clausura at a José María Minella stadium shrouded in thick fog, and secured its third consecutive victory.
Although the match was generally uneventful in terms of excitement, the individual quality of the blue and gold made the difference against a Tiburón side that is going through a critical period: it still hasn't managed to win in the championship.
The first goal came at the end of the first half. After a poor clearance by goalkeeper Jorge Carranza, who tried to start a counterattack, a great cross from Palacios found Di Lollo, who headed the ball at the near post to make it 1-0.

In the second half, with 10 minutes remaining, Miguel Ángel Russo's team would extend the lead. Rodrigo Bataggliaconnected with a precise header after a corner taken by Paredes, sealing the final 2-0 score.

With this victory, the club from La Ribera turned around its poor start in the Clausura, moving from the bottom spots in Zone A to currently sitting in third place, and leaving behind the terrible winless streak that had haunted it since April.
In addition, it also improved its position in the annual standings ahead of the next Copa Libertadores, currently leading it together with Rosario Central, which has one game in hand due to the suspension of its match against Sarmiento because of adverse weather conditions.
The next challenge
Boca will look to maintain its momentum in two weeks when it visits Rosario Central at the Gigante de Arroyito. This match, scheduled for September 14, is crucial, as it is not only a battle for the top spots in Zone A (Boca 3rd and Central 5th), but will also impact the top of the annual standings for qualification to international cups.
