A Boca forward could play for Paraguay's national team: Is he becoming a citizen?
The Albirroja's head coach is considering calling him up, while the player, who has Paraguayan family, would be processing his citizenship
The forward for Boca, Milton Giménez, has started the process to obtain Paraguayan citizenship, as he is being closely followed by the coach of the Guaraní national team, Gustavo Alfaro, who has opened the door for a future draft.
The Paraguayan Football Federation, together with the Argentine coach, evaluated the possibility of naturalizing the Xeneize striker and, after several contacts, the player himself decided to move forward with the process.

The fact is that Giménez has the chance to be drafted to play for the Paraguayan national team without major issues, as his father was born in that country, which facilitates the legal requirements to obtain dual citizenship.
After the initial contacts with his inner circle, the former Central Córdoba and Banfield player expressed his willingness to join Alfaro's project. For this reason, he traveled to Guaraní territory to complete the paperwork, missing a Boca training session with authorization from the coaching staff.
The possibility of representing a country with a football tradition like Paraguay excites the Xeneize forward, who will seek to open a new chapter in his career while consolidating himself at Boca and fighting for a place in the consideration ofMiguel Ángel Russo.
Argentine players who have already chosen to play for Paraguay
If it happens, Milton Giménez would join a list of naturalized Argentine footballers who have already worn the Guaraní jersey, such as Agustín Sández (developed at Boca, now at Rosario Central), Alejandro "Kaku" Romero Gamarra (developed at Huracán, now at Al-Ain), and Andrés Cubas (developed at Boca, now at Vancouver Whitecaps), among others.
