Brian Kemp will visit Argentina to strengthen military cooperation with Milei.
The Republican will travel to Buenos Aires at the end of August to meet with Milei and his Ministers of Defense and Security
In a new gesture of geopolitical rapprochement between Argentina and the United States, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will arrive in Buenos Aires at the end of August to lead a high-profile agenda that will include meetings with President Javier Milei, Defense Minister Luis Petri, and Security Minister Patricia Bullrich.
The objective: to deepen bilateral cooperation in security and defense.
Joint exercise near Atucha
According to official sources, the visit includes a combined exercise between the National Guard of Georgia and the Argentine Armed Forces, within the framework of the strategic partnership agreement in force since 2016. Although details are still being finalized, it has emerged that it could take place in the vicinity of the Atucha nuclear power plant, simulating an operation in response to an attempted attack.
The United States National Guard is a reserve force of the Army and Air Force that intervenes in both military conflicts and internal security, acting in emergencies and large demonstrations.

Key meetings and official agenda
On August 28, Kemp will meet with the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Brigadier General Xavier Isaac. He will also have meetings with Milei, Petri, and Bullrich, following the line of military and security cooperation that the Argentine Government has strengthened in recent months.
The visit comes after the trip to Buenos Aires by United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, with whom Milei and Bullrich signed agreements to strengthen border controls and advance the Visa Waiver Program, which would allow Argentines to travel without a visa for short stays.
In the same vein, the president had already received the head of the Southern Command, Admiral Alvin Holsey, as part of the modernization of the Armed Forces and the acquisition of key equipment.

A growing military relationship
The relationship between the forces of both countries has been consolidated within the framework of the State Partnership Program (SPP), in force since 2016. Last year, Kemp received then Argentine Ambassador Gerardo Werthein and General Richard Wilson, head of the Georgia National Guard, in Atlanta. Wilson later traveled to Buenos Aires to meet with Petri.
In June, the head of the Argentine Air Force, Brigadier Gustavo Javier Valverde, visited Georgia and toured the Air National Guard facilities, participating in activities related to the recently acquired F-16 aircraft. The first of these is already in the country for training, while in December six more will arrive, on the way to completing a fleet of 25 units.
