Brian Sarmiento, the latest eliminated contestant from Big Brother: Golden Generation, sat down in the living room of “A la Barbarossa” and dared to share very personal details about the legal dispute he has with the mother of his daughters regarding child support.
The former player explained straightforwardly that his financial situation changed drastically since he left professional football. “What the mother of my daughters in Spain is asking me is to fulfill the payment, that is, the debt of 100 thousand dollars,” he said.
Sarmiento assured that he tried to negotiate a reduction of the monthly amount to be able to meet the agreement. According to him, everything he sends does not cover the payment and it’s as if he sends nothing. The ex-footballer emphasized that he has all the receipts of expenses and transfers to demonstrate his willingness to take responsibility.
“Everything I have done since I stopped playing football has always been for them. I have folders like this with all the expenses,” he stated. “I am not going to give up my daughter's last name.”
At one point in the conversation, Sarmiento revealed a controversial proposal made by the mother of his eldest daughter. She suggested that if he gave her the last name, she would waive the debt. He was firm in his response: he is not willing to give up his daughters' last name.
Despite that, he insisted that he wants to fulfill his obligation, which amounts to about 85 thousand euros. He requested a payment plan that adjusts to his current situation, as he does not generate the same income as when he was a professional player. “I want to fulfill,” he emphasized firmly.
