Briatore, furious with Alpine: 'A disappointing result and a difficult weekend.'
The team's advisor pointed out the car, the overall performance, and outlined the path to follow for the rest of the season
After Alpine's poor performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix, Flavio Briatore launched harsh criticism that reflects the level of internal frustration.
The team had just scored points with Pierre Gasly at Silverstone and Spa, but under changing weather conditions. In this regard, the executive advisor of the French team didn't hide his discontent: "A disappointing result and a difficult weekend for the team overall, as some weaknesses of our car were clearly exposed".
In the race, Gasly finished last (only ahead of Oliver Bearman, who had to retire) and Franco Colapinto suffered two disastrous pit stops, in addition to a slight off-track incident on the first lap, which relegated him to 18th place. The only consolation was the Argentine's positive qualifying on Saturday (P14).

With eyes set on 2026, Alpine is already working on developing the new single-seater for the major regulatory change. However, Briatore warned that this can't be an excuse for the present: "It's a great challenge to turn the situation around, since we're already focused on 2026 and on the opportunities offered by the new regulations. We're entering a critical phase looking ahead to next year, and I know the Enstone team is making positive progress on that project".
Now, with the summer break underway, Briatore's message was a mix of self-criticism and a call to action: "The season has been complicated so far, and the goal going forward is to try to turn the situation around".

"I hope everyone returns from the break with determination and a fighting spirit to give everything, finish the season in the best possible way, and be fully prepared for 2026," he concluded.
The Dutch Grand Prix, at the end of August, will be the next stop; nevertheless, Briatore has already made it clear that patience is running out.
