Franco Colapinto disappointed after the Hungarian GP: 'A race to forget'

The Argentine finished 18th and pointed to the lack of grip and problems in the pits as key factors in the poor result at the Hungaroring

Franco Colapintoonce again endured an uphill Sunday inFormula 1, this time at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he finished 18th after a race marked by issues with his car and his team's work in the pits.

The Argentine driver lost positions in the opening laps and had two pit stops that were far too long, which ultimately sealed a performance with very little room for recovery. Once the race was over, the native of Pilar spoke to the press and analyzed the team's performance.

"We need to review it now with the engineers in the garage. The start itself wasn't bad, but I had no grip at the rear. I had gained a few places and then lost many," he commented.

Regarding the pit stops and the final result, the Argentine driver was candid: "We lost a lot of time. A race to forget, we didn't have a bad pace, but it was a disaster."

Although the car's pace wasn't so bad, according to him, the mistakes were decisive: "I don't think we had a bad pace, but the race wasn't good. We made many mistakes."

With this result, Colapinto once again ends a weekend without points, affected by technical issues that kept him from the start from being able to compete on equal terms with the rest of the field.

When F1 returns

After Hungary, the top category takes a break and will be on hiatus until the end of August. On the last weekend of the month, action will resume with the Dutch Grand Prix, to be held at the Zandvoort circuit from Friday the 29th to Sunday the 31st.
