Under the management of the Buenos Aires City Government head, Jorge Macri, the City of Buenos Aires authorized the Netflix woke series "Adolescence" to be used in schools with supposed "educational purposes".
This series caused a strong controversy worldwide as it focuses on the story of a real case, in which a 17-year-old black illegal immigrant stabbed a girl to death in 2023 in the United Kingdom.
However, the series producers thought it was a good idea to replace the murderer in the programming with a white teenager, hiding the true perpetrator of the crime and his origins.
The news was confirmed and celebrated by the Minister of Education of the City of Buenos Aires, Mercedes Miguel, in a post on X: "As of today, the series “Adolescence” is authorized by Netflix to be used in schools for educational purposes. We recommend that all schools work with the series in the learning spaces they consider".

She added: "Thank you very much Netflix for this valuable contribution so that together we can defend and protect the mental and emotional health of our young people".
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Buenos Aires City Government, Laura Alonso, also celebrated the inclusion of this series in Buenos Aires schools: "Excellent decision by the City Ministry of Education!", she expressed on X.
