The Cámara Argentina de Empresas Mineras (CAEM), an entity that brings together the most influential companies in the mining sector in the country and plays a key role in its relationship with the Government of Javier Milei, the provinces, and other institutions, announced that mining can generate 180,000 jobs in Argentina in 10 years.
In this line, CAEM highlighted that with annual exports exceeding 4 billion dollars, mining is a strategic sector seeking to establish itself as one of the engines of the economy, alongside agriculture and energy.
Additionally, it projected that in 2032, mining could generate 12 billion USD in export revenues in Argentina, four times what it is today.
Among the companies that are part of CAEM are some of the leading firms in the sector in the country, such as Río Tinto, a leader in lithium production in Argentina; Vicuña, from Lundin and BHP, which leads the largest copper project with an investment exceeding 5 billion dollars; Exar, the largest lithium producer nationally; and McEwen Mining, with a significant copper development in San Juan, among others.

Meanwhile, CAEM played a prominent role in the recent tour of Karina Milei in Canada, consolidating its presence in the world's leading mining forum.
During the events held in Toronto at the beginning of the month, the main objective was to showcase investment opportunities in Argentina and highlight the country's mining potential. In this context, the Chamber organized an exclusive meeting to strengthen the connection between the main actors in the sector, both nationally and internationally.
