Carlo Ancelotti broke the silence after the official announcement of his transfer to Brazil.
The current Real Madrid coach, already confirmed with the Verdeamarelha, spoke with journalists to explain his future
Carlo Ancelottifaced the press ahead of the match between Real Madrid and Mallorca, one of his last commitments leading the Spanish team before taking over as Brazil's national team coach. Visibly uncomfortable, the coach made clear his annoyance at having to speak in a context where he still manages the white club, but has already been announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation as their next coach.
"I'm very happy, if I hadn't had the press conference today, it would be a fantastic day", he began, showing his discomfort with the media exposure.
An announcement that came early
Ancelotti, who will finish his cycle at Real Madrid on May 25, showed some annoyance at the anticipation of the Brazilian announcement: "I have to explain things I don't want to explain, because I have the Real Madrid jersey until May 25. I don't want to be asked other things because I want to respect it until the last day".

Asked about the lack of an official statement from the Spanish club regarding his departure, he replied: "They'll release the statement whenever they want, but there's no problem at all. I don't know when it will be, but they'll do it at the times that are appropriate for Real Madrid. What I talk about with the club is absolutely personal".
The immediate future and the end of a cycle
Regarding the challenge that awaits him with the Brazilian national team, Ancelotti was cautious: "The personal feeling obviously is that from the 26th I'll be Brazil's coach, which is a very important challenge, but today I'm still Real Madrid's coach and I want to finish this fantastic adventure here well, I want to do it as best as possible".

In the same vein, he added: "I know they must be very interested in what I think and what it will be, but I have to think about the times I'm living, which are the days I have left here. Out of the great respect I have for the club, the fans, and the players, I'm focused on what I have to do in the last stretch of this spectacular adventure".
Personal balance and gratitude
Although his contract was valid until mid-2026, Ancelotti acknowledged that the end of the cycle was contemplated: "In football, as in life, there are things that start and end. I always kept in mind that one day it would end and it will be on May 25. It was a very beautiful process and I had a great time. My seriousness and my personality demand that I finish well here, and from the 26th I'll talk about the other challenge, which is very important to me".
Regarding his time at the club, he was categorical: "I'll always have it in my heart. These are fantastic memories that will last a lifetime. If the day I arrived they told me I was going to win 11 titles in 4 years, I would have signed it with my blood. The overall assessment is that it was an unforgettable period".

Words for his successor
Finally, when asked about Xabi Alonso, the name that will succeed him on the Madrid bench, Ancelotti expressed: "I have a lot of affection for him, I don't give him any advice because he has all the tools to be a great coach in the future".
