Carlos Tevez broke the silence after Florencia Peña's harsh statements, who criticized him for his political stance. In an interview with Ángel de Brito, the former player avoided direct confrontation but made his position clear: "I don't know her," he said firmly.
Peña had expressed her disappointment with "el Apache," stating that "he forgot where he came from." Although initially the Tevez Foundation came to his defense, it was the former footballer himself who chose to respond publicly.
Florencia Peña questioned el Apache for his political stance
During a recent interview, Florencia Peña commented on Carlos Tevez and his closeness to political figures like Mauricio Macri and Javier Milei. "I liked him a lot as a player, but I don't like who he became. He forgot a bit where he came from," she declared.
The actress also targeted footballers who avoid speaking out about the country's situation. She considered that many "don't take a stand" and criticized those who live abroad but speak as if they were in Argentina.
"I've always liked players to take responsibility for the microphone they have, to convey a different message. But well, that's personal," she noted.
Peña also questioned the direction professional football has taken. "It's no longer that innocent street game; now it's a results-driven business," she analyzed.
Tevez replied without confrontation
On the LAM (América) program, Ángel de Brito asked Tevez directly about Peña's remarks. El Apache replied calmly but marked distance: "I don't know her personally. I know who she is, but I can't talk about her."
