Time magazine chose Milei as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

The profile dedicated to Milei was written by political scientist Ian Bremmer, who highlighted the president's work

Argentinian President Javier Milei was included in the prestigious list of the 100 most influential people in the world compiled by the American magazine Time.

In the 2025 edition, the leader appears in the "world leaders" category, sharing space with figures like the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

International recognition for his political and economic impact

The profile dedicated to Milei was written by political scientist and columnist Ian Bremmer, who in the text acknowledges having been one of the initial skeptics regarding the Argentinian president's libertarian project. However, he keeps that the economic results achieved in his first months in office changed that perception.

"Milei is the G20 leader who has taken the greatest risks to straighten his country's course... and they are paying off," Bremmer stated. As an argument, he pointed out that inflation dropped from 289% in April 2024 to 66.9% in February 2025, a significant decline for a country marked by macroeconomic instability.

Praise for his disruptive approach and social results

The analysis also addressed criticisms regarding the impact of adjustment policies on vulnerable sectors, but highlighted recent data that contradicts that narrative:

"Critics say Milei is controlling inflation with austerity measures that weigh on the poor, but they have also been wrong: the poverty rate dropped from 52.9% to 38.1% in the second half of 2024."

The author concluded that "Argentina's political system has been battered for decades. It turned out they needed someone to really fix it," emphasizing the reformist nature of the head of state.

A diverse list of leaders and global figures

The Time 2025 list also recognizes prominent figures from different fields. Besides Milei, it includes:

  • Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, as leaders in the technology sector.
  • Scarlett Johansson and Ed Sheeran, in the entertainment world.
  • Gisèle Pelicot, a French activist whose report on sexual violence set a legal precedent.
  • María Corina Machado, a leader of the Venezuelan opposition.
